The hilarity of Sky Mall.

I am far from a frequent flier, but when I do fly, I enjoy thumbing through the Sky Mall magazine.  There's something for everyone:  severely overpriced electronic gadgets, weird things for pet lovers, tacky things for your house, geeky collectables and so on.  Some things I can see people owning.  Other things make me laugh out loud.  Literally.  The people next to me give me looks.

Here's what tickles my funny bone:

The Indoor Doggy Bathroom:

At first glance, this just looks gross.  It's fake grass that your dog can pee on in your house.  It's the description that made me laugh.  This thing says it can hold 2 gallons of water.  TWO GALLONS?!  Holy cow!  That is double gross.  And funny.

Garden Sculpture:

Bahahaha!  Does this need any explanation?!?  Who doesn't want a zombie coming out of your flower beds?

And last, but definitely no least (because this is the one that made me laugh out loud)...

The Foot Tanning Bed:

Ladies this is for you.  For all you golfers out there who don't want those unsightly sock tan lines, there's this gem.  Get your feet sandal ready in no time!  (I summarized the sales pitch)  I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous!  I think it also made me laugh because my dad was my brothers' baseball coach for many years and he had the crazy sock lines and I had the brief mental image of him using this (not that he wore sandals or would ever use this, but that is beyond the point).  Hil-larious.

There are oh so many more things out there, but these are 3 of my favorite so far.  Hope they made you smile.

"From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. From the inside looking out you can't explain it."

10 years ago, at 2:42 a.m. Aggie Bonfire fell and 12 Aggies lost their lives.  "Softly call the muster, let comrade answer 'here'..."

Here.  We will always remember.

A Special Veteran's Day Thank You

This Veteran's Day I would like to send a special thank you to my lovley and especially patient and caring wife for putting up with the military lifestyle. Our families at home often sacrifice more than is known and they should be recognized for their support. Thank you dear, see you in a couple weeks :-)

Hangin' at the Hess

You'll forgive my delinquency in not maintaining Dubs Down South, but I have been spending an exceptional amount of time out of country, thanks Taliban.

Little known fact about me, when I am at home I enjoy spending time loitering at the local Hess Express. It was during one of these escapades that I found this little piece of eye candy. Say hello to skittles…

My absence and football.

I apologize for my absence from the blog.  The reason:  my hubby has been home for 3 weeks now!  Yay!  He did leave for a few days on a presidential support mission to none other than our beloved College Station.  He got to eat with his parents, walk the campus and hang out with my brothers a little bit.  He had a great time and I was glad that he got to go on a fun trip.  Who knows how long this lovely time with him home will last.  My guess:  we won't make it another week.  But that's how it goes and I'm very thankful that he has been home and we got a little break from his super crazy schedule from the summer.

On a totally unrelated note, I have to give a big shout out to my Aggies!  They beat Texas Tech in Lubbock last night 52-30!!  (Side note:  I hate Texas Tech marginally less than I dislike t.u. so this was super sweet.)  Apparently, we have not beaten them in Lubbock since the 90s.  Hopefully we can keep whatever we did up and we can stop saying that this is "another rebuilding year".  Thanks and gig'em :)
