Of late, I have been criticized for not participating in "the" blog, but not by my co-editor, so here’s what my brain has been thinking about…

My household duties include vacuuming and retrieving hard to reach items.

I have recently taken to landscaping and enjoy action packed days at home depot.

Yes, I am being paid to write these things.

Spring has sprung!

Ok, so I have to admit that I am abnormally excited that it is spring time again. I don't know what it is this year, but the warmer weather and sunshine is very refreshing. So, I have made over the blog to reflect my mood :)

Back to normal life

Well, everyone is gone and its back to "life as usual". Its so weird how when you have visitors, its like someone hits a fast forward button, but as soon as they leave it all comes to a screeching halt. I guess time flies when you are having fun :). Anyway, we had a great time with everyone! They were able to go to church with us and enjoy some time downtown (the girls did a little shopping while the boys did some sight seeing), Kyle was able to give them a tour of the C-17, we went to the beach (briefly, it was cold) and on a rainy day we hung out and played Monopoly. And of course ate a lot of good food :) I was very excited about the recent discovery of a very good mexican food place down here. Kyle...not so much. Don't get me wrong, he loves mexican food too, but when I was pregnant I had some cravings for some good mexican food. Connecting the dots yet? No. Well, this place is a long drive from our house. I think he just foresaw a time in the hopefully not too distant future when we would be driving down there more frequently ;). But really though, we had a great time and kind of wish it could have been longer. I guess it just makes us even more anxious to get back to Texas in May!

On another note, the weather here has been gorgeous for the past few days! I am hoping that this weekend we can do a little gardening/yard work. That's a new thing of mine: gardening. I have never really been a fan of getting dirty or bugs, but I do like making things look nice, and flowers are definitely pretty, so there you go.

Also, Kyle's birthday is coming up. Sorta. Its at the beginning of April, but he is going to be gone over his actual birthday, so we are going to celebrate it earlier. That's something that I have learned: with the military the actual date really doesn't matter, and very rarely have we celebrated either of our birthdays our anniversary on the actual date. So far, we have been together for the major holidays, but even those may have to be flexible one day :). Being together and celebrating is far more important than what the calendar says anyway...

Thoughts...

So, I am almost fully recovered from my wisdom teeth experience. I am thankful that I never have to do that again. Since my dentist pulled my teeth, I only got the gas and was awake during the whole thing. It was weird. They did everything that an oral surgeon would do except put me under. So I obviously couldn't feel anything, and I couldn't really hear anything because they let me listen to my iPod (they warned me that I might be able to hear ligaments popping, so I opted to listen to music), but I was [somewhat] aware of what was going on. It freaked me out a little when they were finished with the first tooth. Partly because I was under the gas and that stuff makes you loopy anyway and partly because they cut a big hole in my mouth and pulled a tooth and I had no idea. So before they pulled the second one, they asked me if I wanted to stop and do the other one on a different day (I don't remember if I said this before, but I only had 2 wisdom teeth, both on top). Anyway, are you kidding me?! Don't ask me if I want you to stop doing something I didn't want to do in the first place and I am not in my right mind! No! Get this over with and get me out of here. Geez. But, having said all that, I did like the fact that I felt like myself 10 minutes after they were done and I didn't have the lingering effects of anesthesia all day.

And, I discovered that I do not respond well to narcotics. They gave me hydrocodone for my pain, and my mouth hurt, so I took it. Bad idea. The next day, I could not keep any food down. It was bad. On top of that I had an allergy headache that could rival any migraine. Tuesday was a bad day. But now I am pretty much back to normal, thank goodness.

On a different note, my family is coming in tomorrow and I am so excited! I haven't seen my brothers since August! Hopefully the yucky weather that found its way down here today will go away and we will have nice weather while they are here.

Quick post

I discovered a while ago that there are things in life that you just do not want to do. Today, I am doing one of those things. I am getting my wisdom teeth removed today. Yuck. So, I enjoyed my last cup of warm coffee for a while this morning and am about to have my face cut into.

(Side note: I am not going under anesthesia for this. Apparently I am an easy case in that I only have 2 wisdom teeth, both on the top, they are coming in straight and if my mouth was big enough, I could probably keep them and not have to deal with this. But alas, it is not, so my dentist is going to remove them in his office and I will just have the laughing gas stuff. I didn't mean to worry anyone with the coffee comment.)

Another note, why are they called wisdom teeth? Because its wise to have them removed?

South Carolina is the coldest place I have ever lived.
